How would you describe your work?
I am looking for the drama and nostalgia underlying the entertainment in my work. My works are created by combining different techniques of illustration and the indispensable art of typography.

How do you create your work?
First of all, nice black coffee is a must.  I have a sketchbook to note down and draw my ideas. Among dozens of sketches I choose the one which is closest of all to me, and work on it for hours or even days to ripen my idea and drawing. The most recent sketches have been fulfilled in different ways: sometimes in a digital environment, sometimes on a skateboard, sometimes on the thick rough surface of watercolor paper or in the viewfinder of a camera.

Cem Seylan
As a child in a family of artists, he started to draw at the age of 5. His schooling in Fine Arts began in high school and continued at university in the Graphic Design department. Experience in architectural illustration, advertising, publishing, photography, web design and textile charts has been transmitted to his works with unique interpretations. Works created using different illustration techniques contain the impact of all those years. Regarding the question of what is his source of inspiration, his answer is people and their values. But he emphasizes that the most important source of inspiration is his wife Yasemin Seylan. Cem Seylan, who is looking for the drama and nostalgia underlying the entertainment in his works, especially underlines that this adventure will never end and will always follow him as long as the world exists.
